wildfires is a DLC for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 that brings realistic, dynamic wildfire simulation into the game. Fires can be triggered manually or appear randomly, spreading based on wind conditions and evolving visually in the 3D world with flames and smoke.

An integrated control panel lets you track fires on an interactive map, monitor their status in real time, and manage your water or retardant drops with precision. You control your tank, choose your drop mode, and receive instant feedback on your actions.

The wildfires in Spain and France prompted me to test this tool more thoroughly, and I’m blown away by how well Cheyenne Design has utilized the available resources. It easily spawns large reported fires in the sim that can spread, the effects are now very well done, and the fires can be effectively fought using MSFS’s native firefighting system. All that’s missing now is improved synchronization in MP! 9/10!

I discovered this add‑on because I wanted to jump straight into firefighting without having to progress through the FS2024 career mode. And this software really meets my needs: you choose the fire area and off you go, using any aircraft you want (not just the CL‑415 or the Air Tractor). With the new version (1.1), the software is moving in the right direction: a live‑fed system for real‑world wildfire firefighting, and the ability to deploy ground crews for fire control, water tenders and portable tanks for aircraft refilling, and more. The visual side has also improved, with more realistic flames and smoke—both in appearance and behavior—better visibility of retardant drops, and above all, clear visualization of burned areas. Not to be underestimated: the developer listens carefully to user feedback and is constantly working to improve his creation.

Nothing bad to say about this product nor the developer himself! The new 1.1 version's features made me buy it as they were what I was wishing for: Burn scars & Retardant marks, The Dev heard my suggestions about these! About the Performances, Surprisingly, I had a Huge fire yet my sim remained smoother that in some large airports, even when flying inside the smoke! (My PC: R7 5700X, RTX5070, 32GB RAM) The future is bright for this addon, Only needs AI Planes and Multiplayer now ;) The Dev is not playing, He provides!!! and for this, Easy 5 Stars, thank you for the hard work!

I very like that fire grows so its like a real scenario not only one fire point on map. Also smoke is good realistic becouse its makes worse visibility. What i would like to see is some ground troops becouse if the fire spreads too much its not possible to put it off just with one plane

Excellent add-on! As a Civil Security enthusiast and Aerofire user for multiplayer missions, I was truly impressed by Wildfire’s realism — the fire propagation, ground vehicles, and overall atmosphere are incredibly immersive. The latest update brings real stability and fixes many of the early issues. You can clearly feel the project moving in the right direction, and the potential is huge. The only regret for now is the lack of multiplayer compatibility, which would take coordinated operations between pilots to the next level. Congratulations on this remarkable and promising work. Negative Points - Installation detected as Trojan by Microsoft Defender (must setup exception) - Fire effects are 2D only - Fire effects misplaced to 30m on air (In some places like KJAC USA or CYXY CANADA) - Water drop system no compatibility with CL415 (You must use adon water system only). No support native CL415 SALVO, MAN1, MAN2, etc.... - Scooping no compatibility with Asobo CL415 (You need to flight few meters over water to relaod) - Not able to detect native water CL415 - Fire Propagation speed is to high - FPS drop after 10x and more smoke (Nvidia 4080) Positive Points: - FPS are fine under 10 and less smoke (Nvidia 4080) - Smoke effect is better than (Aerofire Add-on) or (Asobo native) - Propagation work fine and fire zone grow up! - Fire effect stop immediatly after drop water - Smoke effect color change immediatly after drop water - Able to choose quickly fire zone on the map by one clic - Able to stop all fire instant (clear zone buton) - Retardant effect is optionel.

RTX 4060ti, AMD Ryzen 5 5600, 32GB RAM... Bought it...first fire...frame rate drop from 60 (manually limited)...to about 20 with frame generation turned on. Unfortunately, it's unplayable for me...
