Sucre is the capital city of Bolivia. Though many people would confuse it with La Paz (which is the administrative seat) Sucre is the capital city of this South American nation. The only airport in this city is “Juana Azurduy De Padilla” Airport SLSU (SRE). And it has on average 2 daily flights within Bolivia servicing this city. The airport is considered by most one of the most challenging and difficult of Bolivia and also among South American airports.

Ever wanted to fly your airliner (737/A320) into a sloped runway airport such as Lukla or Courchevel? You know you can’t because the runway is not apt, but Sucre airport’s runway which is significantly sloped because of its location in mountain ridges is a 9000+ feet runway, but because the field’s high elevation of more than 3000+ meters above sea level coupled with the sloping runway its quite a challenge to both arrive and depart from this airport.

For landing usually on runway 05, its quite a challenge because once touchdown the runway starts to downward slope and the pilot would think is going to run out of runway and fall into the abyss at the end. For departure which is only on one direction, full power is to be applied in order to avoid a hill that is ahead and caution on rotation is to be exercised in order to prevent a tail strike.

I put a five stars on my own feeling. With this little airport you are NEVER sure to land safely. Each landing (with a liner) is a little challenge. The approach, visual, is unusual, finishing at low altitude over some houses and a deep short descent juste before you touch. You have to keep the centerline, the runway is no that large, while you can't see how long is the remaining rwy because it's slopped. Visual aspect has typical Latin VFR style: you like it or not (I like it) but it has some character, some "climax" The bad new: in real life this airport is now closed, too dangerous and too old... So you won't find it in your FMS if you use updated datas. I Love it.

This is worth a review 1. very detailed 2. has a great sloped runway 3. realistic give it a 4 star. the fifth star is gone cause its a bit FPS heavy

Ein nett gemachter Aiport mit zusätzlicher und guter Fotoszenerie. Das Autogen der Stadt ist zwar nicht überwältigend, aber auch nicht wichtig. Die grandiosen und herausfordenden Anflüge ziehen die komplette Aufmerksamkeit auf sich. Ein bisschen mehr Leben hätte der Szenerie sicherlich gut gestanden, wobei in der Realität mit 3-4 täglichen Flügen auch nicht wirklich viel los ist. Mein FAZIT: Ein MUST-HAVE für alle Südamerika-Fans und Freunde von sloped runways oder/und schwierigen Anflügen!!! Alles in allem eine sehr schöne Szenerie die ihr Geld allemal wert ist!

Die beste "Sloped Runway" die es derzeit im FS zu haben gibt. Auch gut, dass es diese Version für den FS2004 und den FSX gibt - und das zu einem schnäppchen Preis! Leider vermisse ich etwas das Autogen in Sachen Häuser und Bäume. In diesem Fall hat sich LatinVFR offenbar nicht die Mühe gemacht, Häuser in großer Zahl in die Scenery "einzupflanzen". Die Flughafengebäude, mit der Aufschrift "SUCRE", und Touristen sind gut gelungen. Dieses Add-On läuft auch auf schlechteren PCs ohne erhebliche Frameverluste!
